Chilean Swingman Juan Valenzuela (191-G/F-2000) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Fenix, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 22-year old player had a double-double of 33 points and 11 rebounds, while his team edged out Immortals (#1, 4-1) 86-84. It allowed Fenix to consolidate first place in the Dominican Rep. LDC. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Fenix already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Valenzuela had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at Fenix and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Juan Valenzuela has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 32.5ppg. Valenzuela is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 10.5rpg) and averages impressive 51.3% FGP and 41.7% from behind 3-point line.
The second best player in last round's games was young Canadian Michael Tillman (195-G-1996) of league's second-best Santiago Basket. Tillman had a very good evening with 36 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Santiago Basket to another comfortable win outscoring Sameji (#4, 0-4) 110-90. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in East. Santiago Basket consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Tillman is one of the most experienced players at Santiago Basket and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was guard Oliver Ferreira (189-G-1993) of Capitanes (#3). Ferreira showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Capitanes, leading his team to a 100-88 win against #4 ranked Del Patio. Capitanes needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in West. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Ferreira has a great season in Dominican Republic. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.0ppg (4th best) and assists with 5.0apg (5th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
